Council
Member Hyde announced his intention to abstain from voting as his law firm
does considerable business with Fidelity National, although not in
conjunction with this particular issue. Council
Member Jones stated that he was uncomfortable with the JEDC’s waiver of the
policy that requires the hiring of 10% of the project employees from
residents of the Enterprise Zone and he will be meeting with the JEDC before
the Council meeting to attempt to craft language that will indicate
Fidelity’s good faith attempt to hire from within the Zone. AMEND to place economic development
agreement on file RECOMMEND APPROVAL AS AMENDED
